My typical day as a freelance telemarketer

OVERVIEW

My client who is a Commercial School Photographer in the Rotherham region wishes to identify potential new clients and generate quality, qualified sales appointments with a view to increasing sales and generating additional revenue for his company.

The requirement is for me to:

  • Obtain quality, qualified sales appointments within schools and increase the turnover of my clients company

 

TARGET MARKET & GEOGRAPHICAL AREA:

  • Schools, Nurseries and Toddler groups
  • The geographical area that I am to target is within 20 miles of my client’s Rotherham studio.

 

CAMPAIGN PROCEDURE

On each telemarketing day I make an average of 120 telephone calls and I would expect this to generate 2- 3 opportunities a day.  I would also envisage approximately 20 requests for further information via email or post per day.

I operate as my client’s offsite telemarketing person and I am highly focused and committed to excellence in just the same way as my client is committed to excellence in his own field of photography.  The advantage of this is that the prospect believes that the calls are in fact being made from his studio.

 

DIARY MANAGEMENT

The simplest and most effective way in which I can manage the appointments is for me to use an online diary management system such as Microsoft Outlook.  Using this system I am able to create an on-line, real-time calendar, allocating a username and password and which is accessible via the internet.  Both myself and the client are then able to access this calendar at all times.  I enter appointments into this calendar and this can be viewed by my client.  Likewise, my client can also enter appointments into the diary and/or block out days on which he did not want appointments.

 

REPORTING

At the end of each telemarketing day a report is emailed to my client indicating the number of telephone calls made, the number of appointments made, the number of people requesting more information and the number of people who were not interested.  I also send my client a summary of the day’s telemarketing and he also receives detailed notes as to the outcome of each call.
